Reversible anisotropic/isotropic thermal conductivity in polyurethane foams
16. December 2016
In cooperation with the group of Prof. Kumacheva and Prof. Winnik from the University of Toronto we were able to elucidate a new concept towards dynamic insulation materials. Specifically, Bernd Kopera and Mokit Chau were able to demonstrate the reversible transition between isotropic and anisotropic thermal transport in polyurethane foams. The foams were fabricated via ice-growth templating of a polyurethane dispersion. The full story and concept are published in Materials Horizons.
