Layer thickness matters! - Publication in Adv Energy & Sustainability Research
17.11.2021
Passive daytime cooling could help mitigating the severe consequences of climate change. Suitable materials are optically engineered to emit more heat than they absorb via solar radiation. In our latest work published today in Advanced Energy and Sustainability Research , we demonstrate that the layer thickness plays a vital role in the overall cooling performance. Depending on the optical properties of the passive cooling material and the environmental conditions a certain thickness exhibits an optimum cooling performance. Great result from ERC VISIRday!
