Prof. Markus Retsch has been awarded a Lichtenberg professorship by the Volkswagen Foundation. As one of five newly elected Lichtenberg professors in 2013, Prof. Retsch will conduct research on thermal transport phenomena in nano- and mesostructured materials. His foremost goal is the fabrication and investigation of a thermal diode - a novel material, which allows unidirectional transport of heat.
